I need free dental work

Doesn't earning $9 an hour make you eligable for medicaid? Have you applied? If not search for free dental and medical care in your state. Oftentimes people think just because they are working they do not qualify for DSHS beneifits. But $9 in this econemy is extremely low income. I don't what the income levels are in your state but in Washington. You can earn up to $2,000 a month and qualify for food. They raised it because of the economy. I know all children, by federal mandate no matter what their parents own are entitled to health insurance, the states are required by federal law to provide it to them, free of charge if the parent is not willing to provide it, that includes dental. As for you, you get less than I do on SSDI, I would think you are entitled to some sort of help from the state. The working poor really need to start lobbying, you are entitled to at least what people on DSHS who never work a day in their live receive, it is your tax dollar that is supporting them and you don't even have medical insurance, it is a shame. CAll you legislature, your congressman, your governor, call the white house, demand change, and tell them if it doesn't come your vote will go to someone elese next time around. This is rediculous. Working people with no way to get to the doctor, what about the law that all businesses had to provide healthcare to their employees, I know there is a loophole. Get a copy of the movie Sicko, and then call, email, or whatever you representatives and that unless universal healthcare coverage is in place by the next election you are going to lobby for them to loose their jobs, hey this is a great forum to lobby for change in government officials. If you want change, you need to fight for it, the only thing any government official cares about it how many votes he going to get in the next election.

I need free dental work

 in response to waiting4amiracle...

Most states have free dental and health clinic available to low income patients. The best clinics are those associated with teaching schools as they get govenment grants and are required to do provide a certain amount of free help each year. Also search SHEBA on the internet, see if there is a local office, or if there is just one number for everyone to call, they are great at helping people make application to DSHS for medical & dental assistance. The teaching hospitals usually have staff members available that will assist with applications for assistance weather it be public assistance or indigent care. But there are also small clinics in each community, Search free dental care, and you city and state. I know of people who have gotten full sets of dentures for free, and the doctors are the same as those who care for regular patients. Once clinic I took my exhusband to, the doctor there actually provided better care than my own physician that I thought was a fairly good physician. They make referrals for patient that require more care than they are able to provide. I don't know of one state that does not offer free medical and detal, and with the internet it is much easier to locate, sometimes there is a waiting list, but emergency care is alway provided immediatly.

Thanks for the reminder. I so often forget that there is a God out there who will take care of me and my loved ones. I believe in him and have felt his spirit so often. But when that old depression creeps up on me I just turn my soul over to the devil. Your words were what I needed to hear, I have been so down since my sister was murdered last year. I use to saw I feel like a cat, hanging on a wire for my dear life, but I can see light at the end of the tunnel. But lately I have been saying right now that cat has fallen off the wire and the light has gone out. God would never turn the light out on me, I was foolish ever to believe that. Thanks for your posting.

I didn't know you could, I put my story on DigitalCharity.com. They only allow people to contribute through PayPal. But make sure you read the part about scams carefully, as I read on mans comments and it was obvious people were trying to scam him fortunatly he was tossing the checks he was sent.  Good luck.

 in response to Carol1994...

Carol:

I am so sorry to hear about your heartbreaking story. Have you applied for SSDI, you need to. They will deny it, but keep appealing it. My sister, daughter and I all have Fibromyalgia. Where do you live are there no assistance programs. The internet is a wonderful resource for helping people get assistance, DSHS is worthless. Go to the teaching hospitals, they need to provide free care of they loose their funding. Also I have a dsytonia, western medicine first tried to convince me it was in my head, then they diagnosed it and said it is uncureable, it is a maddening disease, your tongue never stops turning, so you can not sleep, and there are times when it takes control of your mind and all you can do is follow the pattern of the tongue rotations, I have lost partial hearing in both ears, the reason I bring this up is that acupunture has been a huge help with this illness, and has been proven very successfull in helping those suffering from all neurological illnesses. If you can find a teaching hospital, natropathy, that teaches acupuncture, they will usually do a reduced fee for low income, my treatments are $25 and if I need to see a doctor of another kind during my visit it is free, such a a natupath, or chinese medicine doctor. I was literally bedridden from the disease and now I am working part-time. But the first thing you need to do is get some social security for yourself. There are organizations that will help you apply and help with your appeal, seach them on the internet under free legal help and then the name of your city and state. 211 is a great organization as they make referrals based on need if they have on in your community they might even be able to help with housing. God bless. My brother is homeless right now also. I wish I could help, ever cent I have left over I am putting towards helping him get housing. My heart goes out to you. But do everything you can to get some medical assistance. If you live in the Seattle area I know where tons of medical assistance is available. 211 would also refer to an organization to help with you SSI application. All of your children are eligable for state medical benifits, that a federal law. Doesn't matter how much money the parents have, the states have to provide medical for the children. I would go to DSHS and demand it. If you are disabled get a letter from your  doctor stating you meet the standard as a "permantly disabled" under the ADA of 1990 and apply for housing, you will automatically be moved up on the list. Most states have first time homebuyer programs, if you have not held deed to a home in your state for the last 4 years, you qualify for them, they are great helps in helping you get into a home if you are low income. But you need to get an income. Seach firstime homebuyer programs and your state.

I didn't realize this was a place where we judged what others posted on the sight, your response to the famly where everyone was disabled. You might be interest to know that my entire family, 6 brothers and 2 sister are disabled, inherited disease from my father, 2 of my sisters are dead both in their early 60's, my brother in his early 40's, both parents died in their mid 60's. I think you need to pray for a little humility to that God you feel has blessed you so. They are those that are not lucky enough to have the health to work and disabilility just doesn't cut it in any economy. They qualify you for one government program, and that disqualifies you for another. Quiet frankly I am tired of having to apologize to people for being disabled, I rather walk a mile in your shoes anyday Mr. I feel so blessed. Lay off the lady whose family is disabled, and ask your God for forgiveness that in stead of offering some words of kindness to a sick woman and her family, you took a hammer and pounded their esteem further into the ground, something all disabled people need. People like you make me sick, so hypocritical. I too am Christian, my God say, thou shall not judge. So I guess I will let you slide and tell myself you simply could not understand what it is like to be disabled because you have your health, you would not know what it is like to live in a family where disease is inherited and family member after family member dies, and year after year you bury one loved one after another. I guess when it comes to ignorance we simply need to forgive others, and hold our heads up high and be thankful we are blessed with the knowledge of empathy for those who are ill and unable to work, especially families where several members are disabled, it is really a battle to make ends meets, and the knowledge is a blessing, as we can truly feel for those who have little.

Why did SSI turn you down, you should be eligable for SSDI if you recently worked and applied right after your quit. SSI turned everyone down first round, you should have appealed the denial. I have helped several people apply for SSI and gotten them approved first time around, important thing is that your doctors get your medical records to SSI and that you keep in touch with SSI asking what else is needed in order for your case to be approved. Can you still appeal the denial, has it been too long. If you can appeal, do so. Also there are organizations that will help with your appeal look on the web for free legal assistance and then type the name of your city and state. Good luck. I hope it has not been too long since your denial was issued.

My heart goes out to you. It sounds like you are really stuggling is depression you only illness. Or is there are physical illness that you are suffering from that the doctors are unable to diagnose. That can be so fustrating. I went through that, the doctors tried to convince me I was crazy, I have dsytonia, my tongue never stops turning, the doctors tried to convince me I was delusional. Sorry delusions are things you feel or have a sensation of, I could see the tongue moving, as could everyone else. It took me four years and until I finally found docotor that are now helping me, I see an acupunturist. If you are struggeling with depression find a psychiatrist that you are comfortable with, one that works with you and allows you to be a part of the treatment process. The thing that really gave me a big boost in healing from my depression was inpatient care, but I looked long and hard before I went inpatient, as all inpatient programs are not the same. If you have a physical illness, change doctors until you find one that listens, if you have an alternative care clinic, through an alternative care school, try going there, they are more open, and listen to patients, and they care is more designed to be a partnership with patients. I am telling you I was going mad with my dystonia, the worst part was my psychiatrist kept telling doctors it was not a mental health issue, and they would not believe me. If it were not for acupuncture I don't know what I would do. It can do so much in the healing process, as it allows the body to heal itself, it has helped with the depression, the dsytonia. I was at a point where I could not even think straight. One more things you are a productive member of this society.... you posted your comment on Aidspace that is productive. Everything we do is productive. If you partner really loves you, he/she will realize that and help you through this rough time. Money is not all we have to give to a relationship. Taking care of children, a home, paying the bills, doing laundry, running errands, taking care of financial problems, all the little things involved in running a home that a person who works all day is too busy to do, and a person who maybe can't go to work, but is well enough to take care of those things is a big help and very productive, beleive me I have done these things and it is a big job and if you do it well, it more than takes the place of working. Do what you illness will allow you to do, but most importantly continue to persue finding out what your illness is. If it is depression, or some other mental health issue, deal with it, sometimes mental health issues will cause physical problems, but don't buy into that diagnosis if you are not feeling better, continue to persue assistance in finding out if you are suffering from an illness such as fybromyalgia, but don't ever put yourself down and say you are not productive, you are alive and that makes you productive. You are loved, and that makes you productive. You are not perfect, that makes you human. Your partner is your partner because he/she is part of the solution, don't push him/her away, accepts yourself as your are, and command that he/she do the same, or tell him/her to hit the road, you deserve the best, the best is someone who is concerned about your health, and does not consider a person with health problems as nonproductive. You are so productive, and are giving so much just by contributing to this sight. Now go out there and get the help you need. Research your symptoms on the web. Read about the different illnesses that come up. Find a doctor that will refer you to the Mayo Clinic if need be. Take care of yourself, that is the most important thing right now. Forget about the money, trust that there is a higher power out there that is going to take care of you financially, so long as you take care of your health. But remember you are worth something, working or not, because you are a living, breathing, human being, and you deserve to be treated with respect weather you are sick or healthy, you deserve to be listened to by doctors, and you deserve to have you complaints researched, and you deserve to be helped to feel better. Weather you are suffering from a mental health issue or a physical issue does not matter, you deserve to be cared for.

I need financial help

I alway find it sad when parents aren't able to treat one another with respect after a divorce. I am sad to hear you lost custody of your children. My husband and I divorced over 20 years ago, and from the beginning we decided the courts were not going to decide what was best for our child. We agreed on child support, agreed he could see his daughter and his family could see his daughter on an open basis. Our daughter is now 23 years old, has graduated with a Bachelors in Business, and will soon start on her masters, both of us have supported in achieving her goals. Both of us realized that our time for achieving our dreams had passed when she was born, her time was her youth, and her foundation to achieve her dream depended on us sacrficing our dreams and our desires. My husband paid child support at a much higher rate than any courts would have ordered and paid for things she needed when I could not. I have been disabled for several years, and he pays most of the bills in our home, as when we die this home will go to her, so why not pay for what will benefit her. I have gone to court and seen how the court system will pick sides, and then sock it to one parent over the others, and actually make it worse for the children. I want to stand up and shame on you, you are here to try and bring resolution to these problems, but what you are doing is passing judgement on one parent over the other. It is sad, but in the end the children pay, and what is sounds like in your case you are being led to the poor house. I could have really socked it to my husband, he is an alcohalic, and big time gambler, but more important he was my daughter's father, and will be for the rest of her life. And even more important I had my own faults, though the court would not even have listened to him one I brought up his gambeling and drinking. When are the courts going to listen to that old adage it takes too to tango. They are constantly saying how important the children are, but yet they do everything they can to seperate children from their parents, to divided and conquer. My brother was awarded joint custody in his divorce, yet his wife refused to let him see his children, and my brother paid child support, she paid none, my brother finally said this is rediculous I can not afford to be in and out of court in order to see my children, they are old enough now, if they don't remember how good I was to them there is nothing I can do. She totally turned his children against him. This woman would not even let his kids attend my parents funerals. I feel sad for you and your children. Mostly I feed sick about a court system that sits in judgement, rather than one that tried to bring resolve, and tries to relize that their is never a situation where one parent is an angel and the other is a devil. Your husband married you for a reason you were a perfect fit. Whatever happened in your home he played just as much a role in as you did. God bless, I pray you will one day have the relationship with your children yhat every mother deserves.

I need financial help

Hi Desperae1:

Try the following sight, another Aidpager turned me on to the sight, I signed up for it, can't do no harm, said it has helped him. www.DigitalCharity.com. You will need to open a PayPal Account, it's free and easy to do. Also read the part about scams carefully, because I saw one posting where someone was definitly being scammed and he did not realize it, apparently did not read the scam info. Good luck, my thoughs and prayers are with you. I know what it is like to deal with tough financial times. I have been disabled since I was 27. Talking about Robbing Peter to pay Paul. I finally learned not to let the collection agencies get to me. I actually took one on in court and won, they ended up loosing $16,000. The worst thing to do with a collection agency is to admit to the debt, especially if it is unsecured, and the second thing is to sign anything for them. Hope that helps. If credit card debt is one of the problems which was for me I finally just stopped paying them. I was on Social Security disability so they could not go against my salary. And they are unsecured debts, so they need to get a judgment before they can touch your wages, if they call tell them never to call again. If they send a letter, write them a certified letter demanding proof you owe the debt, copy of credit application, full account history, name of original creditor, right of assignment. Also state in the letter that they and their agents are barred including law enforcement, are barred from entering onto your property or approaching you in public. Then add that unless they are able to send you the proof requested to you and the 3 major credit reporting agencies you demand they remove themselves from your credit report. Send copies of the letter to them and the three major credit reporting agencies. If they can't send the proof legally they have to remove themselves, a lot of times they will send the collection onto another agency and you have to repeat the process, but you have recourse if you can show a history of it, it is illegal and the credit reporting agencies should not continue reporting an account that no proof is provided for. The main thing is if you are served with a Summons and Complaint do not ignore it, it states exactly what you must do to avoid the collection agecy getting automatic judgment. Most people ignore them, figuring they owe the money anyways, nothing they can do. Not true, in most instances the collection agency does not have the proof they need to prove their claim in court, do not barter with them. First you need to demand that they file the Summons and Complaint, then you must file an answer, in the answer you simply deny or admit each accusation they state in their complaint against you. Any that have to do with your owing a debt you deny, you only admit to you name, etc. This is what I did and my debt was dismissed, the only proof they came to arbitration with was one, statement that showed a $9,000 balance and a $500.00 payment, I was asked do you remember this statement, hell no I could not remember the statement, so I said no, it was the truth, the last thing I remembered was paying the card off in full, and they no proof to the contrary, they kept threatening to get all the statement, but that would cost me more money, I said fine, I just want to be sure it is my debt, by verifying the charges to the account, they never came with anything. Trust is since they have come up with the electronic signing they don't have anything to save, and they can print all the statements out they want, unless they have a receipt with your signature on it, you can say I don't remember making that purchase. After all by the time they get you to court it is years, in Washington State they have six years to sue on an unsecured debt, that six years starts from the date of last payment, so they will usually sue just before that time expires, because they try to get you to sign something for you which extends their time because they now have a secured debt, which allows them to go after the assets you own. The important thing is to investigate the laws in your state. All state give the public access to their laws, and after you learn now to manuvere them its easy to get some basic information. There are also free legal clinics available to give advice as to what the laws are in your state. No attorney is going to say don't pay your credit account bills. But if you are really strapped, like I was I finally stopped paying them, and I don't regret it. It hurt my credit some, but I was even able to get knew cards after awhile, and have kept the balances low on them. As far as collectors calling me, when someone calls asking for me I say no she's not home. Or I don't answer my machine and decide who I want to call. So without knowing what your financial situation is about I can only tell you what I did when I was over my head, an attorney will tell you I was stupid, I am telling you it is the smartest thing I ever did. I quit paying on like 6 credit cards, only 1 has sued me, the other dropped off my credit report when I disputed the accounts, the one that sued me lost. Smart or stupid you tell me. But you do need to research the laws in your state, and never, ever sign anything for a collection agency and never make a payment to them, and always respond to a summons and complaint it you are served. If you get a letter in the mail that is not a summons and complaint at that point send a certified letter demanding the proof I mentioned earlier and barr them and their agency from your property and approaching you in public.

About schoen1959

My greatest need right now is to help my brother, he is homeless, raise money to buy a home. After a 21 year relationship with a woman he adored, she decided he was not good enough for him and took up with an ex-con. The home they were living in was in her name, and rather than let him take it over, she allowed it to go into forclosure. He is broken hearted as when she took pocession of it from her x-husband, my brother paid an attorney to help he do so, the home was a wreck and my brother put his heart and soul into fixing the home up. The home was so bad his x-girfriend was ashamed for him to see it. My brother is disabled, and has several illnesses, but is trying to go back to work, it pains me when he comes home from work each night and his legs are in severe pain. He would not apply for Social Security for several year when he became it, so he lost his time worked and is not under the SSI program verses the SSDI program. He is eligable for the first time home buyer programs, but they are a joke, to be elijable, they expect the poorest of the poor to come up with like $5,000.00 down. I said are you serious, you are asking the poorest poeople to come up with money working poeople can't come up with. Then they said he qualities to buy an home for $80,000.00, try finding a home in Washinginton State for that price even in the bad economy there are no homes at that price. I get so furious that they offer programs for the disabled but all they are geared to do is keep them down. I myself am disabled and tried to attend school, that was a joke. The school's don't want to graduate disabled people, you have to fight like hell to get your accomodations. I am so fed up with disability laws that are ignored because people know the disabled don't have money to do anything about it when they rights are violated. I am currenlty working with Disabilties Washington, and Human Rights of Washington, because my rights were violated during a recent call to my house. I filed a verbal complaint with all three of the companies that violated my rights, I was dismissed, they knew I was poor, but what they didin't count on was that these organizations are very interested in helping individuals that are not interested in monetary settlments, but are more interested in fighting the cause of the disabled. They are strongly considering taking on the Police, Ambulance Company, and the hopsital I was taken too. Hooray. I really feel like the civil right movement, disabled people need to stand up and fight for our rights. We are suppose to be given the same hiring prefernce as native americans, and vets, there is an entire web sight about how the government wants to hire the disabled, and there is even a list of hiring agents for each agency. What a joke you call the number, the person doesn't work there, or the person says oh I didn't know I was the hiring agent. Noone on the government application does it state do you claim disabled preference. I one time applied for a job, I was told oh your not native, the law mandates we have to give preference to native's, the law also mandates they have to give preference to the disabled, and there were no native applicants. A person at the governers office had forward my application for the job, and had even spoken with the hiring person about me, but so soon as he found out I was not native her would not hire me. Government agencies that serve native american can hire non-native but they are directed to give preferce to native, as they are also directed to give preference to vets, and the disable, but they only want to hire natives and that is what they do. So far as the disabled go, noone wants to hire us. I called almost everyone on the list of name that was I got from a web site that George Bush has his face all over, her was promoting it, no one person on the list knew anything at all about preferential hiring of the disabled, some of the people didn't did work at the numbers given, and like I said others said thats news to me I didn't know I was the person in charge of preferential hiring of the disabled, what a farce. I finally got hire by a fluke as a clerical sub by Seattle School, the pay is good, I work 10 days a month, they signed a letter saying they subsize my pay by 20%, so I get to earn more then SSDI normally allows me to, and I keep my SSDI check and all my medicare benefits, but it is still not enough to pay the bills. But it was the best I was going to get, noone was going to hire me, I tried for several years to get hires. My credit was destroyed being disabled for nearly 20 years, you rob peter to pay paul, I was a single mother raising a child, and medicare wasn't paying my medication for most of that time, and I had to keep a secondary insursance, most of my social security check at the time went towards medical. I kept charging up my cards and refinancing my house to paying, finally I said forget this business, my house payment is higher than my SSDI, I am going to loose my house, I stopped paying the credit cards, and there whent my credit. Right now I have to count on my x-husband for financial support and I can' tell you how much I that. So welfare tell me I am eligable for foodstamps, because they have upped the amount you can make, so I say great, I go in apply they want to give me $100  in foodstamps, and guess what because you are getting $100 in foodstamps, and are making more money, even though you qualify for food stamps we are know longer gooding to pay you Medcare part B or A it $100, or you part D. I said what your goona give me $100 and take away $150, are you nuts, give me back my paperwork, all of it. No, I to make copies and enter it into the computer, I said my ass, no way in hell am I going to let you give me $100 in foodstamp which limits what I can buy and let you take nearly $150 cash form that I can use for medicine, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, gas for work, are you crazy, then she says she is only trying to help me. I grab my paperwork and say honey help somone else. What a crock, one government program that cancels out another. I could not believe. I worked I paid taxes and that is how I am treated. Yet people who have never worked a day in their lives, get full medical, vision, dental, hearing, foodstamps, you names. They get way more than I do. I can't believe. We really need to band together and stand up for ourselves, our votes count just as much as anyone elses do, and we need to start making them matter. We need to demanding medical benefits equal to and better than those receiving SSI benefits. Why when we pay for a disability plan through work, are they allowed to lower the amount they pay when we are approved for SSDI, we need to fight insurance companies writing these clauses into their policies, and beleive me they are on you to apply for SSDI, and when you get your back pay, you owe them, and you had insurance coverage that is bullshit. They don't disclose that when you purchase the policy they just tell you how your going to get so much of you wage should you become permanently disabled. So many things needs to be changed and it is time for the disabled to take a stand. My brother worked hard all of his life, and is disabled now because of it, it is his fault that he is receiving SSI payments, because his pride kept him for applying for SSI, but really what is that is you don't working so many quarters you loose the money you paid in, hey whose money is it anyway? I never really understood that one. His money, he's disabled, he should get, shouldn't matter how long since he last worked, the money is still there, why can't he have it.
